Safe Alliance

Safe Alliance provides hope and healing to those impacted by domestic violence here in the Charlotte area. Their women's shelter is one of the only ones in the Charlotte area in which women are able to stay with their children. The shelter serves women who are in imminent danger and are ready to escape a domestic violence situation. Their program not only provides safe and secure housing, but also provides food, counseling, children's programs, life skills and career planning, and general basic needs. There is a need for volunteers to help serve meals to the residents at the shelter.

We will be sending out a small team the third Tuesday of every month to help serve lunch. What a beautiful way for us as the church to share Christ's love and light to the women and children being served at Safe Alliance. This serving opportunity is for adults only and requires an application, background check and an online training to be completed prior to serving.

NOTE: The background check is a $10 fee. If you'd like to be reimbursed for the background check fee, you can email your receipt to missions@mecklenburg.org.

Once you register for this serve day, you will be directed to the safe alliance website where you will complete their volunteer application process and be approved as a volunteer by them. Serving time: 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
