There is nothing we can do better for our kids than building a foundation of knowledge and trust in Jesus for them at a young age. And to make it even better, as parents, we should be working on this foundation in our own lives. MecKidz has a mission to partner with parents to help kids understand they are loved and cherished by God.

MecKidz believes in the importance of memorizing scripture. Why? Because there is a verse in the Bible that says:

“I have hidden your word in my heart so that I won’t sin against you.” (Psalm 119:11)

When we MEMORIZE scripture, we bring it into our hearts and lives in a way that allows it to shape and change us. Suddenly, the words of God aren’t just something we hear on Sunday. They are something we remember when we are at school, on the sports field, or living our daily lives.

It is important for children to memorize the Bible because kids are uniquely gifted at learning and memorizing! A study by Brown University shows that children’s brains are better equipped to learn new things and memorize new information than adult brains. This is why MecKidz encourages kids to memorize a verse from the Bible every month.

We sat down and asked: "If a kid could memorize just a few things from the Bible -- concepts that would serve as a FOUNDATION of truth for the rest of his or her life -- what would some of these foundational concepts be?" And this is what we found:

The Ten Commandments

John 3:16

The Great Commission

Old Testament Books of the Bible

New Testament Books of the Bible

The Love Chapter of Corinthians

The Fruit of the Spirit

The Lord’s Prayer

Jesus’ Greatest Commandment

The Romans Road

Parents, the only way your child will memorize these truths is if you champion it! We need your help with this. Let's partner together to "hide God's word" in your kids hearts by tackling one of these foundational truths each month, and helping them memorize it.

And here's another thought...what if you memorized these truths with them as well? It will bring a foundation of truth into not only the hearts and minds of your children but you as well and that will serve your family the rest of your life.
