Sanctuary: Introduction to Mental Health

The topic of mental health has increasingly become an important part of the cultural conversation in recent decades – and rightly so! But does the Bible have anything to say to those struggling with their mental health? Does it give any guidance to those trying to support a loved one who’s struggling? What about just general guidance for paying attention to our own mental health? How should the Church be creating space for open and compassionate conversations surrounding mental health? In this series of classes, we’ll explore all of those questions and more.

Session 1 (March 8): Introduction to Mental Health
Session 2 (March 29): Understanding Mental Illness
Session 3 (April 26): Living with and Treating Mental Illness
Session 4 (Fall 2026): The Need for Companionship
Session 5 (Fall 2026): Caregiving
Session 6 (Fall 2026): Self-Care

Note: While students are encouraged to attend all 6 sessions, you can instead opt to attend only some of them. These sessions will not be recorded.
