Zambia Child Sponsorship

PARTNER
World Vision (worldvision.org)

LOCATION
Charlotte, NC

DATES
Annual Sponsorship drive February 2011

OPPORTUNITY
Since 2003, the Meck community has supported hundreds of orphans and vulnerable children in the community of Kapululwe, Zambia. The families of Kapululwe are chronically poor, subsistence farmers. Adding to this hardship, the HIV/AIDS pandemic is wiping out a generation of caregivers and income-providers.
Your sponsorship provides:
  • Access to nutritious food, health care and clean water
  • Trained volunteers to monitor children’s emotional, physical, and spiritual care and to care for sick or dying parents
  • Counselors to provide direction and guidance to young people who are making critical life choices
  • Age appropriate, biblically-based education and practical life skills training
  • School fees, uniforms and supplies so children can stay in school.
Additionally, the sponsors are encouraged to write to and pray for their sponsored children. This lifts both the sponsor and the child emotionally and spiritually.

COST
$35/month for a term of at least one year ($420/yr). Payment is made directly to World Vision, and is tax deductible. Any attender, member, friend, small group, or youth ministry may sponsor a child.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE
Any attender, member, friend, small group or youth ministry may sponsor a child.

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS

COMMITMENT
