What is it?

A unique presentation where parents and kids review what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and explore taking the next step of baptism. 

*MecKidz Baptism Orientation is a prerequisite for baptism.

Who’s it for?

Kids age 2^nd - 5^th grade who have already accepted Christ as their Savior and Forever Friend. Kids must attend with their parents. 

When is it? 

MecKidz Baptism Orientation is offered on Wednesday, May 22 from 6:30-7:45 p.m.

Where is it?

Meck's North Charlotte Campus.

West Atrium upstairs in room 215 (the Large Group Programming room)

Come join us for teachings on prayer and to pray for all the weekend services at Mecklenburg Community Church. Those on the prayer team receive weekly updates about the prayer requests people have sent in from the church and community.

In the current financial landscape, more and more people are finding themselves needing to know and apply God's financial principles.  Coaches voluntarily serve others by assisting married couples and individuals in applying Biblical financial principles to their lives. Coaching participants receive personal instruction in applying the principles to their situation. 

The goals of Money Coaching are:

    1. To assist participants in constructing and living on a budget.
    2. To assist participants in applying biblical principles of stewardship.
    3. To communicate the vision of financial freedom.
    4. To assist coaching participants with a practical plan for becoming debt free.
    5. To provide practical and Godly financial counsel to families and individuals.

Money Map Coaching is not…

    1. Investment coaching or retirement planning.
    2. Marriage or family coaching.
    3. Legal counsel or estate planning.
    4. Intervention with creditors.
    5. Benevolence.

The Money Map Coaching program is run by Crown Financial Ministries.  Coaches go through a 12 week self-study course offered by Crown.  Crown also has a ten-week Financial Biblical Study which we offer regularly through the Meck Institute.  Going through the Crown study is generally the first step to becoming a part of the Financial ministry team at Meck.  It's not strictly required to be a coach, but we recommend it as this is the best way to gain a feeling for what we teach and to solidify your own knowledge as well.

*Serve as a guide, role model, teacher and encourager

*Offer accountability

*Provide resources

Overall the Financial Mentees role is to:

*Identify financial growth needs

*Be willing to learn and grow

*Set specific goals

*Solicit mentor's assistance

Spiritual mentors help individuals grow spiritually through an individual coaching relationship. This training is designed to help those interested in becoming a spiritual mentor, receive training on various resources such as different spiritual growth and gift inventories, how to give support to the mentees, and how to optimize this partnership in learning.  

Overall the Mentors role is to:

*Serve as a guide, role model, teacher and encourager

*Offer accountability

*Provide resources

*Focus on the spiritual growth needs of the mentee

Overall the Mentees role is to:

*Identify spiritual growth needs

*Be willing to learn and grow

*Set specific goals

*Solicit mentor's assistance

Many of you are familiar with Habitat for Humanity - one of Meck's long-time Missions 2.0 partners. We have a new and exciting opportunity to partner with the Habitat ReStore, a part of Habitat for Humanity. The mission of the ReStroe is to sell donated construction and home related items in order to:

• Increase the number of homes build with low-income families through Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte.
• Prevent usable items from being put in landfills.
• Provide quality building materials to the general public at discounted prices.

They are looking for long-term, regular volunteers to work different hours in their store. For anyone whose schedule allows, this would give you a unique opportunity to serve those in need in Charlotte!

If this is of interest, we would love to have you come to the informational meeting on Sunday, June 2 following the 11 a.m. service at the North Charlotte Campus. There you will meet Lauren Gibson, the Volunteer Coordinator for the Restore will tell you more about this opportunity.

Whether you are a book-lover at heart or just looking for another way to connect deeper with God, The Grounds' Book Clubs provide you with a place to dig deep into faith-based books, meet others and grow spiritually.

Book Clubs meet one time each month at The Grounds.

Based on the book by the same name, the Unglued Bible study by Lysa TerKeurst aims to help women make their emotions work for them instead of against them. She does this by helping them understand how to resolve conflict and find peace in their most important relationships, identify what type of reactor they are, how to respond without regrets, and how to gain a sense of calm in circumstances out of your control.

This 6 week study will meet at the North Charlotte Campus on

Wednesday nights from 7-8:30 p.m.

Unglued will equip you to:

* Know with confidence how to resolve conflict in your important relationships.

* Find peace in your most difficult relationships as you learn to be honest but kind when offended.

* Identify what type of reactor you are and how to significantly improve your communication.

* Respond with no regrets by managing your tendencies to stuff, explode or react somewhere in between.

* Gain a deep sense of calm by responding to situations out of your control without acting out of control.

On the weekend of September 14/15, Meck will be having our Baptism Celebration Weekend. We will come together at all of our sites to celebrate and will be having baptisms during each of the weekend services at the Lake Norman, Mountain Island Lake and North Charlotte campuses. If you would like to go public about your decision to be a Christ-follower (whether it's only been a day or a decade), Meck would love to share this amazing experience with you. Just register below for our upcoming baptism and you will be contacted with more information. Children must be 2nd grade and above and must attend the MecKidz Baptism Orientation prior to baptism.

Crisis Assitance Ministry is the community's emergency room for families facing financial crisis who have nowhere else to turn. The assistance they receive prevents homelessness and loss of utilities. Come be a part of serving on the local mission field in Charlotte!
