In First Steps, we'll help parents explore three important topics: staying connected with God, staying connected with your spouse, and raising a child who knows and loves God. This two-hour seminar class is ideal for new parents. While you are not required to be a parent of a newborn, or have your baby dedicated at Meck, this class is a requirement for Baby Dedication.

Join us on Thursday, May 7 to pray with our mission partners at the following locations and times:

  3. 4 p.m. - Children's Hope Alliance (Barium Springs) in Statesville

MecKidz Baptism Orientation is for kids in 2nd - 5th grade who have already accepted Christ as their Savior and Forever Friend. This is a unique presentation where parents and kids review what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and explore taking the next step of baptism. MecKidz Baptism Orientation is a prerequisite for baptism.

It's never too soon to start teaching students about how to handle money. Generation Change is Dave Ramsey's financial class for middle and high school students. During this three-week course, students will learn how to use their money to honor God, how to be realistic in their perspective towards money, and how to begin taking responsibility for their own finances.

Join together with other Moms for times of encouragement, tips, challenge and interactive dialogue as we discuss topics related to raising our children, marriage and our own spiritual lives.

The club is designed for 4th and 5th grade students who have a love of reading and who want to apply what they're learning about God to what they're reading in books. Every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month, the group meets to discuss books that are either faith-based or full of biblical principles. We participate in fun activities to bring the lessons to life and give the children the opportunity to share their thoughts with others.

Nursing Home Ministry Serve Day

There is a clear command in the Bible to care for the widow and the orphan, and to serve the least and the lost. Serving at a nursing home is a wonderful way to be able to do this, and a fantastic opportunity for families to serve together.

Olde Knox Commons is Meck's partner for our Nursing Home Ministry. The activities that we do with the residents and the simple act of being there to spend time with them, brings so much joy to their lives.

Join us on Saturday, April 25 from 9:15 - 10:30 a.m. helping to serve at this home and to begin building amazing relationships with both the residents and other people from Meck!

Children's Hope Alliance (Barium Springs) is an organization committed to providing a "Safe Home" for children through group homes, therapeutic foster care and adoption programs. They strive to provide healing for individuals that are troubled, abused or neglected through educational, prevention and developmental programs.

It is through these group homes that Meck is able to serve by taking one evening a month to provide dinner for the children staying there. This affords the room parents a break from the cooking for the night, and allows us to show these kids that people in their community care about them.

Please join us on Tuesday, April 28 from 5:15 - 7:30 p.m. to participate in this serve day. If this is your first time serving with this organization, you will be contacted by one of our team leaders who will review some of the specifics related to serving with Children's Hope Alliance.

Crisis Assistance Ministry is the community's emergency room for families facing financial crisis who have nowhere else to turn. The assistance they receive prevents homelessness and loss of utilities. Come be a part of serving on the local mission field in Charlotte!

Join us on Saturday, May 9 from 9 - 11 a.m. helping to serve the working poor in Charlotte as well as meeting other Meck members and attenders!

The Children's Storytime at The Grounds was created to be a place where you and your child can spend time together learning about God and having fun! Designed for Pre-K aged children and older, each Storytime is led by a dynamic storyteller who brings faith-based children's books to life. You will also get to help your child make a craft that allows you to bring the lesson home with you. Finished with a snack time, the Children's Storytime is the perfect way to spend a Tuesday morning.

This week we're having our Tacky Prom & Talent Show. This is a fun event that is the perfect chance for you to come meet new friends and get to know us a little better. There will be snacks, drinks, dancing, games, talents performed, and more. You can dress up in your weirdest outfit or just come as you are. If you don't like dancing, don't worry. There's plenty to do besides dance.

Doors open at 6 P.M. when there will be music, video games, food and beverage items available in our cafe, and time to hang out and meet new friends. REALife starts at 7 P.M. with games, worship, videos, and teaching from the Bible about the issues that high school students face today. REALife concludes at 8:30 P.M.

Children's Hope Alliance Serve Day

Children's Hope Alliance (Barium Springs) is an organization committed to providing a "Safe Home" for children through group homes, therapeutic foster care and adoption programs. They strive to provide healing for individuals that are troubled, abused or neglected through educational, prevention and developmental programs.

It is through these group homes that Meck is able to serve by taking one evening a month to provide dinner for the children staying there. This affords the room parents a break from the cooking for the night, and allows us to show these kids that people in their community care about them.

Please join us on Tuesday, May 26 from 5:15 - 7:30 p.m. to participate in this serve day. If this is your first time serving with this organization, you will be contacted by one of our team leaders who will review some of the specifics related to serving with Children's Hope Alliance.

Nursing Home Ministry Serve Day

There is a clear command in the Bible to care for the widow and the orphan, and to serve the least and the lost. Serving at a nursing home is a wonderful way to be able to do this, and a fantastic opportunity for families to serve together.

Olde Knox Commons is Meck's partner for our Nursing Home Ministry. The activities that we do with the residents and the simple act of being there to spend time with them, brings so much joy to their lives.

MAX-Camp

MAX-Camp is short for summer camp, and it's the best week of summer for MAXlife Middle school ministry. All MAXlife students and anyone in middle school is welcome to attend.

This year for MAX-Camp we are trying something new. We're heading to a camp with over 45 acres packed full with a pool, lake, docks, kayaks, paddle-boards, mountain bikes, paintball, and so much more. Check out what's coming your way this year at MAX-Camp:

This trip is a student favorite, and each year our camp brings in extremely talented worship artists and guest speakers who engage our students in worship and God's word. All of our students come back saying they've made friendships that have truly impacted their lives. This is an amazing trip.


The dates of the trip are June 15-19. After registration you will receive emails updating you on the necessary information that you need to know.

The cost of camp is $295. Payments must be made online, and can be made all at once or in three installments. Full payment must be paid by June 1.

Price includes all meals, lodging and transpertation. Bring any extra money you desire for souvenirs or extra snacks.

REALife 80's Skate Night

Travel back in time, get dress up in some retro 80's clothes, and join us for a night of roller skating at Frye's Roller Rink in Concord. Meet at 7pm and stay until close (9pm) or leave anytime you like. Cost is only $1 for admission and either $2 for roller skates or $3 for inline skates. Bring extra money if you would like to buy food or snacks.
