Can I trust it?  After all, it's really old! Is it still relevant to my life? And what is it about? How does it all fit together? And where do I even begin? I mean, it's a pretty big book!

Barium Springs Serve Day
Tue, Sept 23, 2014
5 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Campus: Lake Norman, Mountain Island Lake, North Charlotte
156 Frazier Loop Statesville, NC 28677

THIS SERVE DAY IS NOW FULL. PLEASE EMAIL MISSIONS@MECKLENBURG.ORG IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE PLACED ON THE WAIT LIST. OR PLEASE REGISTER NOW TO JOIN US NEXT MONTH.

Barium Springs is an organization committed to providing a "Safe Home" for children through group homes, therapeutic foster care and adoption programs. They strive to provide healing for individuals that are troubled, abused or neglected through educational, prevention and developmental programs.

It is through these group homes that Meck is able to serve by taking one evening a month to provide dinner for the children staying there. This affords the room parents a break from the cooking for the night, and allows Meck to show these kids that people in their community care about them.

Please join us on Tuesday, September 23 from 5 - 7:30 p.m. to participate in this serve day. If this is your first time serving with Barium Springs, after you register you will be contacted by one of our team leaders, who will review some of the specifics related to serving with Barium Springs.

The address and contact information for Barium Springs is:

156 Frazier Loop
Statesville, NC 28677

Campus: Lake Norman, Mountain Island Lake, North Charlotte

There is a clear command in the Bible to care for the widow and the orphan, and to serve the least and the lost. Serving at a nursing home is a wonderful way to be able to do this, and a fantastic opportunity for families to serve together.

We have found a wonderful home, Olde Knox Commons, for Meck to partner with. And they are so excited for us to come out and spend time serving the residents there. And we are told that spending time with us, particularly children, bring so much joy to their lives.

Join us on Saturday, October 4 from 9:15 - 10:30 a.m. helping to serve at this home and to begin building amazing relationships with both the residents and other people from Meck!

The fourth and final installment of Foundations focuses on two things: serving and evangelism. Saturday Seminar- The Christmas Story
Sat, Dec 6, 2014
9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
Campus: North Charlotte

For many of us, the Christmas story is a familiar one. We’ve heard it told so often that it’s lost some of its excitement. But the message of Christmas is actually quite astonishing. The God of the universe assumed flesh and blood to step into human history in order to save us. And He orchestrated His arrival in the most incredible way. Join us for another session of the Saturday Series. Same story, brand new perspective. You are not going to want to miss this one.

Instructor: Casey Jordan

Date: Saturday, December 6
