James: Mercy Triumphs by Beth Moore provides a personal study experience five days a week plus viewer guides for the 8 video sessions of this in-depth women's Bible study.

In other ways, James more closely resembles the Book of Proverbs than any other New Testament book. Topics in this study include: joy, hardship, faith, reversal of fortunes for rich and poor, wisdom, gifts from above, single-mindedness, the dangers of the tongue, humility, and prayer.

Reading and understanding the Bible can be challenging. But, with a little help, you will discover why it is the greatest book you will ever read! Whether you are new to the Bible or have been reading it for some time, it helps to have some background and tools to aid your understanding.

This 6 week class is recommended for those with minimal Bible knowledge and focuses on developing needed skills for reading and studying the Bible.

Topics include:

How to navigate through the Bible
Getting the Bible's big picture
Understanding and interpreting the Bible

Some reading and short assignments are given for independent study each week.

You will need to bring a Bible to class. You may purchase an NIV Study Bible for $20 the first night of class.

In the current financial landscape, more and more people are finding themselves needing to know and apply God's financial principles. Coaches voluntarily serve others by assisting married couples and individuals in applying Biblical financial principles to their lives. Coaching participants receive personal instruction in applying the principles to their situation.

The goals of Money Coaching are:

    1. To assist participants in constructing and living on a budget.
    2. To assist participants in applying biblical principles of stewardship.
    3. To communicate the vision of financial freedom.
    4. To assist coaching participants with a practical plan for becoming debt free.
    5. To provide practical and Godly financial counsel to families and individuals.

Money Map Coaching is not…

    1. Investment coaching or retirement planning.
    2. Marriage or family coaching.
    3. Legal counsel or estate planning.
    4. Intervention with creditors.
    5. Benevolence.

The Money Map Coaching program is run by Crown Financial Ministries. Coaches go through a 12 week self-study course offered by Crown. Crown also has a ten-week Financial Biblical Study which we offer regularly through the Meck Institute. Going through the Crown study is generally the first step to becoming a part of the Financial ministry team at Meck. It's not strictly required to be a coach, but we recommend it as this is the best way to gain a feeling for what we teach and to solidify your own knowledge as well.

Career mentors help guide individuals through job loss and job transitions. These are individuals with expertise in their given career, with passion for people who are going through the career loss/transition journey, and who want to encourage and give practical job hunting advice. Unlike many of Meck's missions trips that mainly serve the least, this unique opportunity decisively targets the lost: people who have never heard the message of Christ.

Young people in Eastern Europe live in a changing world their parents never knew – a place once dominated by government-sponsored atheism is now filled with opportunity and freedom. But, this same region is also increasingly becoming a “post-Christian society." In a group of 100 Slovak young people, only one knows Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Teams that go to Eastern Europe to help with summer camps have one primary purpose: to share their lives and the love of Jesus Christ through relationships with students who have little to no contact with Christians, the Bible, or the truth of Jesus Christ. These summer camps are amazing, challenging, convicting, fun, and completely life-changing for everyone involved. During the camps, we help high school students practice English-speaking skills in the mornings, engage in a wide variety of sports and activities in the afternoons and teach about Christ in the evenings.

This summer, we are fortunate to take another team to Slovakia July 25-August 5 to spread the Gospel to those separated from God. Don't let money be an obstacle. If God is calling you to this mission, God will certainly provide the resources for you to carry it out, and our team experienced His incredible faithfulness last year with our inaugural trip. Prayerfully consider joining our team to make a difference.

They carry a great burden of shame and failure afraid to reveal their hidden pain, and by doing so are forced to endure the long-lasting effects in isolation. Surrendering the Secret will allow women to release this burden and find freedom through 'redemptive community' while experiencing hope and joy as shame and failure are replaced with beauty.

Meck serves with Habitat for Humanity in the Charlotte area. Come join us in building something that impacts the lives of those in need in our local community!

On Saturday, March 17, we will be serving with Habitat for Humanity in the Charlotte area from ~8 a.m. until 2 p.m. (Please note, time will be confirmed when we receive the worksite details). Pastries and coffee will be provided in the morning to start the day and we will have water on site.

MAXlife Summer Camp 2011 is June 18-22, 2012 at Wake Forest University in Winston_Salem, NC. The camp is put on by Student Life. Student Life is an organization that is designed to minister to middle and high school students and also to provide resources and ministry opportunities for church youth ministries. Camp Theme
AUDACIOUS. The Christian life isn't easy and some would say it shouldn't be. So, how do your students look at their Christian life? Do they look at it as a chore? Do they look at it as a challenge? Do they see it as a journey and not a destination? We want to help your students live a life without boundaries. A life in which they are bold not just for the sake of being seen, but bold because they serve a God that is bold. A God that sees what they can become. How do they do that? They do that by Being on Guard, Standing Firm in the Faith. Being Courageous and Being Bold. Being Audacious.

Q: Do I have to be a member of Meck or regulary attend MAXlife to attend camp?
A: You do not have to be a member of Meck or regularly attend MAXlife to attend camp. We encourage guests, relatives, friends and any students between rising 7th graders and rising 9th graders.

Q: Will I need any spending money?
A: You may bring money for merchandise that will be sold and for snacks during late night. Students also need to bring money for one fast food meals on the road. We encourage students to not bring very much money as we have seen students misplace it in the past. MAXlife and Mecklenburg Community Church are not responsible for any lost or stolen money.

Q: What time will we depart on Monday and return on Friday?
A: These times are yet to be determined for this year. Students will most likely need to arrive at the church on Monday, June 18 around 10 a.m. and we will return sometime around 1 p.m. on Friday, June 22. Check back later for exact details.

We have been called by God to serve Him and our surrounding community.
Join us for this three day event as we come together as a group of students to share the love of Jesus Christ with the community of Charlotte. Each day you and a team of students will join together to take on two different service projects. Through these incredible three days, we will learn about God's calling on our lives to serve and then put what we learn into practice.

We will close things out with a dinner Thursday night for the students involved,
their families and leaders as we look back on the week and share what we have experienced and learned. This will be on of the best experiences of your summer.
You don't want to miss it!

Who: All middle school students (rising 7th-9th grade)

What: MAXlife Mission Week

When: Tuesday, July 24- Thursday, July 26
Each day from 8:45 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Thursday Night Dinner - 6:30-8 p.m.

Where: We will meet each morning at the church. The exact room is TBD.

Cost: $25 (includes t-shirt, lunch on Wednesday, and dinner on Thursday night)

Students are encouraged to eat breakfast before they come each day.
Students will bring money for lunch on Tuesday, lunch will be provided on Wednesday, and students will bring a bag lunch on Thursday.
(Dinner for the student and their parents is covered in the cost.
Additional family members are welcome to attend the dinner at an additional cost
of $3 per person.)

Parents, we need your help driving for this event. This entails driving students to their project sites, staying to help, and driving them back to the church.
You can volunteer for morning sessions (9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.), afternoon sessions (1:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.), or all day (9a.m. - 5 p.m.). If you are able to help, fill out your available times (days/mornings or afternoons) when registering.
