We are kicking off our "Reflections" series this weekend. What do you see when you look in the mirror? Most of us see what we're not instead of who we actually are, don't we? We see someone who burned dinner or spilled juice on the carpet. Someone who lost her house keys - again. Someone who is not the right height or weight. Someone plagued with could have beens and if onlys. The disappointments and imperfections are why we want to cover up who we really are. We want to make sure that the world around us sees only the version of us that we want them to see. But the Bible tells us we are children of God - loved and treasured exactly as we are. During this series, we are going to be challenged to take a look at ourselves and dare to be real.

Camp Dates and Location
MAXlife Summer Camp 2011 is June 18-22, 2012 at Wake Forest University in Winston_Salem, NC. The camp is put on by Student Life. Student Life is an organization that is designed to minister to middle and high school students and also to provide resources and ministry opportunities for church youth ministries. Camp Theme
AUDACIOUS. The Christian life isn't easy and some would say it shouldn't be. So, how do your students look at their Christian life? Do they look at it as a chore? Do they look at it as a challenge? Do they see it as a journey and not a destination? We want to help your students live a life without boundaries. A life in which they are bold not just for the sake of being seen, but bold because they serve a God that is bold. A God that sees what they can become. How do they do that? They do that by Being on Guard, Standing Firm in the Faith. Being Courageous and Being Bold. Being Audacious.

Q: Do I have to be a member of Meck or regulary attend MAXlife to attend camp?
A: You do not have to be a member of Meck or regularly attend MAXlife to attend camp. We encourage guests, relatives, friends and any students between rising 7th graders and rising 9th graders.

Q: Will I need any spending money?
A: You may bring money for merchandise that will be sold and for snacks during late night. Students also need to bring money for one fast food meals on the road. We encourage students to not bring very much money as we have seen students misplace it in the past. MAXlife and Mecklenburg Community Church are not responsible for any lost or stolen money.

Q: What time will we depart on Monday and return on Friday?
A: Students will need to arrive at the church on Monday, June 18 at 10 a.m. and we will return at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, June 22.

Q: What will students do while at camp?
A: Each day is filled with times of worship and teaching from God's Word, family group discussion times, recreation and games, free time, and a whole lot more. Student Life does an excellent job of providing needed structure while giving plenty of time for students to hang out and enjoy time with friends.

We have been called by God to serve Him and our surrounding community. Join us for this three day event as we come together as a group of students to share the love of Jesus Christ with the community of Charlotte. Each day teams of students will take part in two different service projects and through these incredible three days, will learn about God's calling on our lives to serve.

We will close the week out with a dinner Thursday night for the students involved and their families as we look back on the week and share what we have experienced and learned. This will be on of the best experiences of your summer. You don't want to miss it!

Who: All middle school students (rising 7th-9th grade) 

What: MAXlife Mission Week 2012

When: Tuesday, July 24- Thursday, July 26
       Each day from 8:45 a.m. - 5 p.m.
           Thursday Night Dinner - 6:30-8 p.m.

Where: We will meet each morning at the church in the West Atrium.

Cost: $25 (includes t-shirt, lunch on Wednesday, and dinner on Thursday night)

Students are encouraged to eat breakfast before they arrive. 
For lunch, bring money on Tuesday, pizza will be provided on Wednesday, and students will bring a bag lunch on Thursday.
(Dinner for the student and their parents is covered in the cost. Additional family members are welcome to attend the dinner at an additional cost of $3 per person.)

Registration opens on Sunday, April 22.

Parents, we need your help chaperoning and driving for this event. This entails driving students to their project sites, staying to help, and driving them back to the church.
You can volunteer for morning sessions (9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.), afternoon sessions (1:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.), or all day (9a.m. - 5 p.m.). If you are able to help, fill out your available times (days/mornings or afternoons) when registering.

Don’t miss out on this year’s MAXlife All-Nighter, August 10th,
from 8 p.m. - 7 a.m. We will be eating, swimming, riding
go-karts, playing mini-golf, JUMPING ON TRAMPOLINES,
watching movies, and partying until the break of dawn!
It won’t be a party without you!

This year we will be going to the Brotherton's house for food,
swimming and a lot of fun, Sky High Sports, and Zuma Fun
Center during our time out. We will spend the rest of the
time at the church eating, playing games, watching
movies and staying up all night!

Cost - $40

You will need to register for this event by Tuesday, August 7th.
