Habitat for Humanity

Meck serves with Habitat for Humanity in the Charlotte area. Come join us in building something that impacts the lives of those in need in our local community!

Here are the serve days for the 2012 calendar year - mark your calendars now!! The specific details of both the location and the task are given to us just before the upcoming month's serve day, and once registered, you'll receive an email before the serve day to confirm those final details. Meck's serving schedule for 2012 follows the third Saturday of every odd month:

March 17
May 19
July 21
September 15
November 17

Here are some important details to keep in mind:

10-15 volunteers are needed for each workday.

The minimum age for serving with Habitat is 16 because it takes place on a construction site.

All workdays are on Saturdays and each starts at ~8 a.m. and lasts until mid-afternoon with a break for lunch. In the summer months, some workdays may start earlier to accomodate for the heat.

The tasks will vary from site-to-site, so you'll be given a description of the work to be done prior to each workday.
