The Hole In Our Gospel Sunday Night StudySunday, Jan 23, 2011 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Campus: North Charlotte Upstairs Conference Room The Hole in Our Gospel: What does God expect of Us? The Answer that Changed my Life and Might Just Change the World It's 1998 and Richard Stearns' heart is breaking as he sits in a mud hut and listens to the story of an orphaned child in Rakai, Uganda. His journey to this place took more than a long flight from the United States to Africa. It took answering God's call on his life, a call that hurtled him out of his presidential corner office at Lenox-America's finest tableware company-to this humble corner of Uganda. This is a story of how a corporate CEO faced his own struggle to obey God whatever the cost, and his passionate call for Christians to change the world by actively living out their faith. Using his own journey as an example, Stearns explores the hole that exists in our understanding of the Gospel. Two thousand years ago, twelve people changed the world. Stearns believes it can happen again. No childcare available. Please make your own arrangements. Class Meets Sunday evenings 7-8:30 p.m.. Women's Bible Study: Get a Life- MondaysMonday, Jan 25, 2010 - Monday, Mar 22, 2010 Campus: North Charlotte Are you looking for a better life? There are misguided concepts in our culture that can drive women—even those who know Christ—toward a less-than-abundant life. Myths such as “If I follow Christ, my life will be trouble-free” and “If I could just meet the right guy, I would be happy.” And although women may know that fulfillment is not found in a remodeled kitchen or new pair of shoes, these false ideals may still impact them more than they realize or care to admit. To counteract these untruths, this new study confronts the worldly perception of what it really means to live “an abundant life”—and shows how women can find true abundance. Recommended for women of all ages and seasons of life! Class meets on Monday evenings, 7-8:30 p.m. from January 25 to March 8. No class on Feb. 15. No childcare will be provided. Please make your own childcare arrangements at home. Instructor: Pre-Requisites: |
