Every 14 seconds a child loses her parents to AIDS. These orphans are in need of clean water, food, medicine, education and Christian influence/love. Only a handful of churches are helping these orphans. A church of our size can make a significant difference to a specific African community.
You can help. Mecklenburg Community Church continues to parnter with
World Vision, a large, reputable Christian humanitarian aid organization, to develop an effective aid program. Since 2003, the Meck community has supported hundreds of orphans and vulnerable children in the community of Kapululwe, Zambia. The families of Kapululwe are chronically poor, subsistence farmers. Adding to this hardship, the HIV/AIDS pandemic is wiping out a generation of caregivers and income-providers.Our church has selected the African community of Kapululwe, Zambia to target aid.
We can do more ..
By sponsoring a child for just $35 a month, you can help turn the tide on this pandemic. Today, monthly contributions from sponsors enable World Vision to provide impoverished children and their communities with access to clean water, nutritious food, education, health care and economic opportunities.
By traveling to Zambia and holding the hand of your sponsored child. In 2011 Meck is partnering with World Vision to send a team to Kapululwe, Zambia. Once there, we will talk with village leaders, the mothers of our sponsored children, people living with AIDS, and of course our sponsored children. The people are very hospitable, and the experience is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
