What is the Meck Institute?

The Meck Institute is our adult education ministry that seeks to promote spiritual growth through various classes and seminars.

Think "community college" with an emphasis on the Christian worldview!

What kind of classes?

We offer classes in Bible, theology, spiritual disciplines, spiritual gifts, worship, marriage, parenting, finances, leadership and more!

We offer classes for the beginner, like Bible 101, and for the advanced student at the seminary level.

A course catalog and schedule are available on the left margin of this page.

Our classes are small and interactive to encourage questions and discussion.  As you learn, you meet other people and feel more 'connected' to the Meck community.

Who are the teachers?

Our teachers consist of Meck staff and members who are highly knowledgeable in the topics they teach.

Our teachers welcome your questions and are accessible beyond the classroom.  Their greatest desire is to help their students grow in their relationship with Christ.

When are the classes offered?

Weekly classes and monthly seminars are offered at various days/times.  For information on a specific class, check the schedule on the left margin of this page.

Do you offer childcare or children's programs?

Our children's ministry is called Meckidz and offers programming on weekends in conjunction with our worship services.

For some of our Meck Institute classes, paid childcare is provided with advance registration.  Classes on marriage and parenting typically include childcare as an option.  Be sure to check each class description to see if childcare is offered.

All childcare workers are screened by our KidSafe staff.

To register for childcare, include the names and ages of your children in the comments section of your registration.

Is there a cost?

The cost for most classes is for materials only.  Many classes have no material costs.  Other classes average about $10 for books or participant guides.  Seminary level classes include an audit fee of around $125.

The cost for childcare, when available, is $5/child/session with a maximum cost of $15/family/session.

Where can I get the class materials?

The Meck Resources Book Store carries all the materials needed for Meck Institute classes.  If you prefer to purchase your materials elsewhere, just contact us at meckinstitute@mecklenburg.org for title and publisher information.
